I'm at one of those weird points in my life.
After being handed my cap and gown for graduation, it hit me. I’m gonna be in college in a few short months. It seems like yesterday I was being dropped off at high school for the first time- a wide-eyed freshman with as many fears as I had expectations. I will walk across a stage in the Cardinals stadium, and be handed a paper that basically says I don’t suck at life and I can now move on and be an adult.
Other than this melancholy realization, I have been going to the movies alone a lot. I’ve been listening to a lot of Jack’s Mannequin and my newly purchased Sherlock Holmes soundtrack. I go to school from 7:20 am to 10:30 am - a mere three hours which seem absolutely pointless except I have to have Chemistry in my transcript or else I can’t go to NAU (I was accepted, by the way).
I expect 2010 to be the absolute best or worst year of my life. It could really go either way. I get my camera when I graduate. I hate to be one of those douchebags with an expensive camera, but it’s for my own enjoyment. I have no hopes to be a band photographer. I’m majoring in film/media or journalism. Then, I’ll be going to Disneyland with my two best friends. No parents, thank God. And after that comes Hawaii in October for my birthday, and my two best friends will be coming along with me as well. By the end of March, I expect to have a new job.
New job. Two vacations. No more high school. Independence. Sounds like a fucking awesome year to me. Bring it on,2010.
